Compare to its sister town Chiang Mai, it has a more relaxed down-to-earth feel & attractions of its own. Chiang Rai offers a smaller scale of an off-beat but thriving cycling scenes. Chiang Rai might not yet be mentioned by cycling holiday makers, but that might not be the case for long.
Most of Thailand’s top riders come from this upper northern region.
