CHIANG RAI

Chiang Rai , Thailand’s most northern province , located 180km north of Chiang Mai. The infamous Golden Triangle which once the world’s biggest opium trade center, border to 3 countries, with a river separates Thailand, Laos & Myanmar.

Compare to its sister town Chiang Mai, it has a more relaxed down-to-earth feel & attractions of its own. Chiang Rai offers a smaller scale of an off-beat but thriving cycling scenes. Chiang Rai might not yet be mentioned by cycling holiday makers, but that might not be the case for long.

Most of Thailand’s top riders come from this upper northern region. Chiang Mai has all sudden became a great cycling city after recent years and if current trends are anything to go by, it will only continue to grow in popularity and push up Chiang Rai as new cycling holiday destination. As people starts to explore and expose to what the deeper part of Northern Thailand has got to offer where Chiang Rai will line up their own great capacity to fulfill the demand of what a cycling holiday destination need.
